The EU AI Act prohibits, among other practices, AI systems used to infer the emotions of a person in the workplace or in education institutions except for medical or safety reasons; biometric categorisation systems that categorise people on the basis of their biometric data to deduce or infer race, political opinions, trade union membership, religious or philosophical beliefs, sex life or sexual orientation; and the evaluation or classification of people over time on the basis of social behaviour or personal characteristics where the resulting social score leads to detrimental treatment in unrelated contexts or to treatment that is unjustified or disproportionate.
